August 2009

Dear Parents,

Although we seem to have missed out on sunshine for most of the summer, we hope your family has found time for closeness and fun.  Now, though, it is time to look toward fall and the start of religious education.

This is your child’s Confirmation year.  In an effort to make sure that your child is ready for this sacrament, we will have a parent/student meeting on Sunday, September 20th at 1:00 PM in the meeting room at the school. We strongly urge you to attend and both parents are welcome with the student. Please read the enclosed contract that we asking you and your child to sign. At that time, we will clarify all the requirements of the program and then go over any questions you may have on the contract.

We will also take registrations at that time. Please fill out the form and bring it with you that day along with the fee of $40.00 which is used to help defray the cost of the program materials and events.

Please mark this important date on your calendar. The mandatory Confirmation retreat will be held on Sunday, October 4th from 2-7PM. Fr. Ray Donohue will be the leader and it will be at his home and church on Center Road in Arkwright. Further details about transportation will be discussed at the meeting.

In addition, we ask that you attend the 11:00 am mass with your child, then go over and support out Holy Name society by having breakfast in the school gym. the cost is $5.00 per person as a donation to the church. Our meeting will then begin at 1:00.

As we spend these last days of summer with our families, let us remember to save time for God and to thank Him for all the blessings in our lives.  We look forward to seeing all of you on Sunday, September 20th.  Please encourage your children to approach this new year with enthusiasm and a love for learning about God and His church.

Yours in Christ,

Roberta Conigio, D.R.E.
