August 2009

Dear Parents,

Although we seem to have missed out on sunshine for most of the summer, we hope your family has found time for closeness and fun.  Now, though, it is time to look toward fall and the start of religious education.

We will begin our year on Sunday, September 20th with family attendance at the 11am Mass.  We ask that families be present in the church at 10:15 to receive information regarding schedules, teachers, etc.  Immediately following the Mass, all are invited to attend the Parish Pancake Breakfast which will be held in the School Hall.  Come enjoy good food, good friends and some conversation.  Cost is $5 per person.  We ask that you also bring some cleaning supplies or personal care items to donate to our friends in Silver Creek who are still suffering the effects of the flood that devastated  their community.

Most families have already registered for our religion program.  If you have not done so, please return the enclosed registration form and discipline policy form, along with your payment (including the $10 late fee) by September 10th.  You may mail it to the rectory or drop it in the collection baskets at Mass. Just be sure to label it for religious education. The cost of tuition remains at $25 per student with a $60 family maximum.

Classes for K-Grade 9 will begin at 9:30am and will end at 10:45 so that families can attend the 11am Mass.  Students in K-Grade 8 should be dropped off at the back door of the school.  Children up to and including 3rd grade should be accompanied into the school by an adult.  All students should wait at the assigned tables until a teacher escorts them to class.  At 10:45 all will be dismissed from the gym.  Students in Grade 9 will meet in the Parish Center. Students in Grade 10 will be meeting Sunday nights at the home of Mrs. Patty Donovan. A separate schedule of days and times will be sent to those 10th grade families. Grade 11 – Confirmation class -  will receive a separate letter also.

As we spend these last days of summer with our families, let us remember to save time for God and to thank Him for all the blessings in our lives.  We look forward to seeing all of you on Sunday, September 20th.  Please encourage your children to approach this new year with enthusiasm and a love for learning about God and His church.

Yours in Christ,

Donna Seyedian, Director (Pre K-6)              Roberta Coniglio, Director (7-12)
